Professor Daniel Brockman

We are thrilled that Dan has agreed to continue to be our president for AVSTS.

Dan graduated from Liverpool in 1987, and after a period in small animal practice he returned to the University to do a residency in small animal surgery. After a very productive 4 years and with the RCVS certificates in Veterinary Radiology and Small Animal Orthopaedics he moved to the University of Pennsylvania to lecture and he became Assistant Professor of Surgery in 1994.He became a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Surgeons in 1999.

Dan returned to the UK to become Lecturer in Soft Tissue Surgery at the Queen Mother Hospital in October 2000 and became a Senior Lecturer in 2003. He was awarded his Professorship in 2007.

Dan has a vast array of interests and specialities but currently lists cardiothoracic and vascular surgery (especially management of portosystemic shunts), plastic and reconstructive surgery, surgical management of urinary incontinence, gastrointestinal surgery and surgery of the conducting airways as his particular interests.
